Pūkaha Wildlife Tour

Pūkaha Wildlife Centre - owned by PukahaPūkaha Wildlife Tour:

Enjoy a trip to Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre with our Pūkaha Wildlife Centre Day Tour.

Pūkaha is an unfenced sanctuary for native wildlife. The 942-hectare forest is home to wild kōkako and kākā. In the aviaries discover endangered birds that are bred for release across Aotearoa New Zealand.

During the Pukaha – Mount Bruce Tour you will learn about conservation work and possibly see birds with their chicks in the aviaries. Secondly you might get lucky to come across wild birds in the forest such as the titipounamu (rifleman), kārearea (New Zealand falcon) and the kererū (wood pigeon). Finally hopefully you could see advocacy birds like Kahurangi the kōkako.

An experienced Pūkaha Ranger will guide you through the Reserve, opening your eyes to the hightlights of the nghaere (forest).Pūkaha Wildlife Centre -meals
